This collection of work was the result of a year-long exploration of cultural grief, ritual, and nationalism. I created these works after noticing how, around me, Jewish Zionists, Jewish Anti-Zionists, and jews in the ambiguity held grief and fear so deeply entrenched within their veins and bones, and even beyond the flesh and into their faith, spirituality, and children. I wanted to look at why this was the case, and how the Israeli ideal is perpetuating the despair and fear of American Jews.

 

Using found materials from my familial history and narrative, comparable to many other American Jewish families', these works reflect the inner investigation of a young American Jew navigating historical trauma, identity, and zionist propaganda.
